After categorization is run in Relativity, the name of the categorization set will be modified by adding 'Categories' to the beginning of the categorization set's name. The names of the categories will be shown in a drop down menu:

Any documents which were not close enough to an example to be categorized will be tagged '[Not Set]". Any documents omitted from the data source used for the conceptual index, or which were not submitted for categorization will also be tagged as '[Not Set]'.

When creating a categorization set in Relativity, keep in mind the following:

When the 'Create Categories and Examples' button is clicked on the console.

. . . Relativity will clear all existing examples and categories.

Categories will then be created for each choice in the Categories and Examples source field.

Examples will also be created for each document for which the 'Example Indicator' field is set to 'Yes'.

These example documents will then receive categories based on the values in the 'Categories and Examples Source' field.

If the example indicator field is not selected for a categorization set, then new examples will be created for every document for which a value is selected in the 'Categories and Examples' source field.

Here's a simple tip showing how you can color code your unread emails in Outlook to help organize your inbox.

You've probably noticed that you can categorize emails in a separate field which is accessed simply by selecting one or more emails and right clicking:

However this will only add a colored block next to the date, author, and subject, other displayed metadata email fields.

To change the color of the entire row, go to View . . . View Settings:

Click on 'Conditional Formatting . .

. . . and then click 'Add' to create a new rule, and set a specific font and color for the rule.

. . . then click on 'Condition' and in the new dialog box on the 'More Choices' tab, click on 'Categories'.

Set and rename the category you want the Font color change to be assigned to.

The appearance of the messages in your Inbox will update each time they are categorized.
