Drill Down for Detail in Pivot Tables

Drill Down for Detail in Pivot Tables

December 28, 2019

Don't miss how easy it can be to get the detail behind your pivot tables in Excel.   Simply by double-clicking on any value returned by a pivot table you can get list of the rows from the data range that the pivot table analyzes, which were used to calculate that value.  A new worksheet will be created with the relevant rows.  So in the below example, the pivot table lists the career home run totals for baseball players, based on a worksheet listing annual statistics for each player.    When we click on the number of home runs, 755, for Hank Aaron . . .

. . . a new worksheet is generated listing Aaron's statistics for each year of his career.
