Windows Explorer Preview Error for PDFs

The Windows Explorer preview pane is a great tool to help you locate or rename files in a directory of PDFs.

If Adobe Acrobat is your default PDF viewer you may have noticed preview will stop working after you've viewed a few dozen PDFs. If this happens check these settings on the View tab in Tools . . .Folder Options

. . . the option for 'Always show icons, never thumbnails' should be off, and . ..

the option to 'Show preview handers in preview pane' should be checked.

It may also help to simply to switch from Adobe Acrobat to Adobe Reader or another PDF viewer as your default for PDF files.
