Opening dBase Files in Access
As noted in the Tip of the Night for October 23, 2017, dBase files are still very common in document productions. You can use MS Access to open dBase files, by going to External Data . . . New Data Source . . . From Database . . . dBase File.
However if you try to import data this way, you may get an this error message:
Access requires that you use the original file of the dBase file when importing the data. If you have a copy of the file named with the Bates number for the file, the data will not import. Look in the meta data of the production database for the file name.
