If you want to generate blue, green, or any color slip sheets you can write a Word document to a PDF retaining a color background.
On the Page Layout tab there's an option to set the page color to almost any shade of the rainbow.
In order to print with the background you need to go to File . . . Options. In the Display section check off 'Print Background colors and images."
