George Socha, the co-creator of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM), provides a very thoughtful description of his model in this presentation on e-discovery basics sponsored by Lexis. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gUdQAIgxJ5Y . Two slides from the presentation provide more detail on the EDRM than is provided in the standard version. Plenty of attorneys will ask what is meant by 'Identification', or 'Collection', and the first slide below gives brief definitions that can be memorized. Note that in the second slide Socha points out how grey arrows signify the iterative (a repetition of the sequence) steps in the e-discovery process.
