SSHF - Structured Searches = Hot Facts

Whenever you're searching for something hard to find in a database you want to try to search a few different ways. Search for the stem of a word, (transact* - for transaction, transacted); search for the synonyms of the word (deals, contracts); search for homonyms of the word (search for personal in addition to personnel); and also try a fuzzy search to find misspellings of the search term. (Your database will usually give you the ability to find tune how fuzzy a search will be). In order to make sure you follow each of these steps keep in mind the mnemoic "Structured Searches = Hot Facts". Go through all four steps before you give up the search!
