Don't Let Windows AutoPlay

Be sure that your Windows operating system is not set to automatically run files found on flash drives, memory cards, smartphones, and tablets. The files on these devices may install unwanted malware without warning.

In order to ensure that the autoplay setting is not enabled, search for 'autoplay' in Windows, and bring up this dialog box.

Set not only 'Use AutoPlay for all media and devices' to OFF, but also set the defaults for external drives; memory cards; smartphones; and tablets to 'Take no action'.

It's a bad idea to have your OS set to run external media automatically, no matter how convenient it might be.

deleted iMessages aren’t gone

Make note of the fact that even after a text message is deleted on an iPhone it is still temporarily stored on the device. An iPhone uses a database to track texts. A text the user deletes will be checked off as such in the database. The message is removed from the device later. Deleted messages are purged as necessary to in order to free up space on the phone with older messages being removed first.

It is not unusual for a message deleted more than a year earlier to be recoverable.

Different service providers will retain messages on their servers for different periods, but usually no more than two weeks.

RegEx search for data between two strings

In NotePad++ you can use a simple regex search in this format to mark all text between two strings:

firststring .*? second string

In the Search menu, open the Mark tool. Be sure that you have the 'matches newline' box checked off. Using this method the second string cannot be at the beginning of a new line, and it should be a whole word.
