Don't miss that you can work with two windows in Zoom, not just one. When performing the electronic presentation for a remote trial, it will be useful to have the participants' video feeds in one Zoom window, and the PowerPoint or electronic presentation in the second Zoom window.

To activate dual monitor mode in Zoom, click on the video settings next to the video camera icon . . .

. . . and then on the General tab check off ‘Use dual monitors’

You have to then restart Zoom in order for two Zoom windows to appear in a session. When you activate share screen, the application you select will pop up in the second window, while the Zoom gallery is shown in the first Zoom window.

You can also have some participants shown in the second Zoom window, and the main speaker shown in the first Zoom window.

Be wary of the safeguard of moving your cursor over a url in an email message to confirm the link is to a safe domain before clicking on it. Microsoft’s Threat Intelligence team has issued a report warning that links to free email domains have commonly been used to redirect users to a malicious url.

Microsoft reports that phishing attempts using this technique commonly use certain phrases in the subject line such as ‘Report Status’; ‘Zoom Meeting’; or ‘Password Notification for’ followed by the recipient’s domain.

CAPTCHA verification can actually be a tool used by the attackers to prevent automatic f

scanning of the malicious content.

Email exceptions reports may include information about encrypted emails which cannot be opened. Two common encrypted emails are Secure/Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions (S/MIME) emails and restricted permission messages (RPMSG).

S/MIME emails include a digital signature added by the sender to verify his or her identity. The recipient has public key which is used to encrypt the message, and a private key which is used to decrypt the message. So S/MIMEs serve a dual purpose by both authenticating the author, and protecting the contents of the message. Microsoft Exchange supports S/MIME.

RPMSG messages are Outlook encrypted emails which may be set to prevent them from being printed, forwarded or copied by a recipient. A message with restricted permissions will have the extension 'rpmsg', and may appear as an attachment in another email. It will not be possible to open the message unless you are using the account of the recipient, and it may be necessary to use Outlook's specific rights management system. It may still be possible to review these messages by having the original custodian collect his or her email data.
