Relativity's redaction tool can transfer the redactions made in one Excel file to Excel files which have duplicate hash values. In order to initiate the propagation process, it's necessary to create two saved searches - one with the Excel files that have been redacted, and another with the Excel files to which the redactions are to be transferred.

When a new redaction project is created, there will be a spreadsheet propagation option.

The field containing the hash value for the Excel files must be selected as the 'Duplicate Identifier'. A markup set must also be selected.

The Redact Spreadsheet Markup Navigator can be used to find where discrepancies between two files appear.

You can use a simple Excel formula to find whether or not a number falls between a range listed in two other columns on a worksheet.

=LOOKUP(2,1/((A5>=G:G)*(A5<=H:H)),I:I)

The LOOKUP formula looks up the value given in cell A5 first in column G to see if it is greater or equal to a value there, and then in column H to see if it is less than or equal to a value there. It then returns the value listed in the last column, which is here 'I', and is listed at the end of the formula.

When creating an analytics index in Relativity, keep in mind that the option for the email header filter will only be enabled, when the setting to 'Remove english signatures and footers' to set to 'No'. If you want to remove the email header info, you'll have to also select the option to remove email signatures to 'No'. You can choose to both keep signatures and footers, and have the email header filter either set to 'Yes' or 'No'.

The email header filter will remove the to, from, date, and reply indicator fields, but not the subject line.
