VM Ware Air Watch is an app that many firms install on their employees' iPhones in order to enable the device to snych with their work Outlook profiles.

However most of the employees are probably unaware that the installation of the app may give the admin of the work email system access to data on their phone.

After completing the authentication process whoever is doing the setup will then need to enable device management.  This entails the installation of a workspace profile:

At this stage after 'Install' is pressed, a warning is given that the steps being performed will allow for the data on the iPhone to be accessed remotely.

A reason for BYOD enthusiasts to think twice.

Adobe has been touting its Scan app. I installed it on my iPhone today after weeks of seeing an ad for it each time I open Acrobat on my Win 7 laptop.

From what I can tell it doesn't do much better in scanning & OCRing than apps like scanner pro which have been around for a while but may be marginally better.

Compare the Adobe Scan OCR:

Smartphones have become ubiquitous business tools for attorneys.  They are often a means of accessing confidential documents that it may be helpful to share with another party in court or elsewhere.  A lawyer may be reluctant to hand a device such as an iPhone to someone else, even a client, when that device can contain so much business and personal information

The good folks at Apple have a solution to this problem.  In recent iOS systems you can enable guided access under Settings ... General ... Accessibility.

After turning on Guided Access you need to  set a six digit passcode.    After it's on anytime you have an app open and you triple click the home button you enter guided access mode.  It will not be possible to use another app without triple clicking home again and entering the passcode.

You also have the option to circle areas of the app screen you want to prevent someone from using touch control on.

... and also set a time limit on how long the app can be used for.
