E-Filing in New York County

E-Filing in New York County

October 7, 2015

A newly updated version of the protocol for electronically filed cases in the New York Supreme Court for New York County was issued today.   See: http://www.courtalert.com/NewsAlert/2496.151007.010911.pdf

Note that it states that, "The official record of a document in an e-filed case is the electronic record of the document stored by the County Clerk."   It also mentions an experimental program for filings to be prepared with hyperlinks and bookmarks, suggesting that in the future an affirmation, or declaration ought to have the exhibits linked to the descriptions in the body of the document, and a table of authorities ought to link directly to the cited opinions.

The protocol specifically states that all documents filed with the New York State Courts electronic filing system must be in the PDF-A format.   See the tip from the night of September 25.
