Don't tiff out your data

May 21, 2015

The U.S. District Court for the District of Illinois has ruled that the production of electronic data is not okay if converted to tiff images.  The tiff images are insufficient because they don't contain, "the creation and modification dates of a document, e-mail attachments and recipients, and metadata",  and the requested data did include confidential or nonresponsive information.   Hagenbuch v. 3B6 Sistemi Elettronici Industriali, 2006 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 10838 (N.D. Ill.)
